The Basics of a Business Car Phone

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Most people make the usual blunder of setting themselves up with a business car phone system which is basically a standard phone. They get a so-so phone and a few frilly apps. This phone may or may not be of any use to them on the road and less in terms of doing what a business phone is supposed to do- Do business.  The better approach is a high end phone, to start with, preferably something like a new iPhone car kit or perhaps a Bluetooth car kit, but there’s a lot more to do before you can be sure you’ve got a good business phone in your car.

Business car phone essentials

The first thing everybody needs to know about business car phones is that they have to be somewhere near the top of the range. This isn’t a status symbol thing or fashion statement, it’s all about their ability to do their jobs properly.

The reason for this situation is that a business phone actually has two areas of operation-

  1. The obvious and unavoidable- The basic phone function. This includes issues like range, reception, software, security, and other fundamentals. A good business phone should be literally part of your suit, and just as reliable.
  2. The progressively less obvious as business technology develops- Business functions. A business phone is also an important administrative tool. Many businesspeople use their phones as much as they do their PCs, pads and laptops. The phone is now a basic part of every business system. If it can’t do those administrative and sales jobs, you’ve got a major issue.

The big deals in both cases are phone quality. An iPhone or Bluetooth is a major brand platform. Most business technologies are designed to work with them.  They’re known quantities from the software perspective, so all the better apps are designed for them, too.

Customizing your business car phone system

The other very big deal about business car phones is that they really do need to be tailored to suit your business needs. If you’re in sales, fleet management, a consultancy or some other type of business, your business apps and phone operations will naturally have quite a few individualized requirements. Most standard major phones can do quite a lot of these things, but really, do you want to be out on the road guessing whether your phone can handle what you need to do?

Upgrades

A further issue which usually trips up everybody is the basic equation between business phone systems and other business systems. Most phone systems and communications systems are of various vintages and levels of capabilities. Some can handle the new phone technology, some can’t.

Three Tips to Buying a Car

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

Before you buy a car, whether from a private seller or from a car dealership, you need to follow a few tips. This will help you get the best deal for your money and make sure that you get a car that you can rely on.

Know Your Needs

The first thing that you need to know is what you need from a car. Do you have a large family or is it just the two of you? This will affect the type of car that you need. There is no point in looking at a two seat sports car if you have a family of four or five. At the same time, you do not need a people carrier for jus the two of you. Determine your needs before you start shopping around for a car.

Set Your Budget

You need to determine the amount of money that you can spend. This will help to determine whether you need car finance and also the type of finance that you opt for. It will also determine the type of car that you are looking for.

Once you have your budget, it is time to shop around to find the best deal for your budget. Look around at different car dealerships to find out what is on offer for the money that you have available.

Avoid the Scams

Unfortunately, there are a number of private sellers and dealerships who sell bad cars. This is commonly seen with used cars that are on offer for extremely low prices. Look out for any signs that there is something wrong with the car – including the odometer being wound backwards, the car being stolen and the car not being roadworthy.

Never be afraid to have a mechanic look over the car for you and ask the seller to see the reports on previous owners and any work that has been done. You should also check the vehicle identification number to make sure that the car has not been stolen.

Buying your first car? How to make up your mind

Friday, October 21st, 2011

If you’re buying your first car, the first thing you’ll notice is that you have way too many choices. You’ll also be stunned at the amount of information available, even if you do understand it. It also sets off a lot of financial thinking and calculating which becomes very much an acquired taste after you’ve done the numbers for the umpteenth time. As a matter of fact, you’re better off thinking long term, not just about the purchase. There are other things to consider like car service issues, car insurance and what you need your car to do.

The basics, explained

These are the main issues:

Do you want a new or a secondhand car?

You’d think this was a simple question, but a lot of people look at price, and the secondhand cars, naturally, are usually cheaper. The best practice answer is actually a new car. One of the reasons is that the warranty deals are a lot better and give you cover for years. Secondhand warranties are pretty basic, and any issues you may have with the vendor are covered by various consumer laws.

Another good reason for buying a new car is that new models of mainstream brands get manufacturer support in the form of parts. This makes car repair a lot simpler. You’ll also find that the new cars have all the best electronic and safety systems installed. Secondhand cars may have some problems installing new systems.  (Note: If you do buy a secondhand car, buy a recent model with a good vendor warranty and do some research online about any owner issues.)

As a matter of fact, you’re better off thinking long term, not just about the purchase. There are other things to consider like car service issues, Car Insurance Quotes and what you need your car to do.

Types of tires to use

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

With the enhancement of technology all around us, all cars have become more than just the interiors and the exteriors. It has developed into something new. There has been no brand of tires that have been in the market constantly.

Different companies have been developing different types and forms of tires so that each company competes with the other for bettering the quality and the prices. Hence the reputation of the company reduces or increases. One will have a very confusing time choosing the best tires for their new vehicle.

You must make sure that you insure your car under the comprehensive car insurance scheme, because under the third party scheme, one will not get the replacement or the coverage for the tires and the tubes. One cannot get these replaced in the third party scheme. The policy will fail to reach out for the owner as well as the replacement of the tires and the tubes.

When one gets a comprehensive car insurance policy, one can be sure that the whole car along with all its parts including the tires and tubes can be replaced or covered for. One might want to consider choosing the best quality of tires, so that one gets more than asked for the purchase. For example, Kumho is a Japanese company producing tires and produces stuff of great quality such that even the rashest driving will not cause the tires to tire out. There are many innovations attached to the tire.

When the car’s breaks are applied it creates a very effective grip on the road. With the flat tire technology, one can have a smooth drive even in the case of a punctured tire.

The advantages of buying a new car

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Buying a car can be loads of fun and exciting too. But it can also be stressful, if you are still deciding on the model of car you want or whether you want to buy a new or used car. Here, we’ve listed some of the main advantages of buying a new car, including car insurance costs and much more:

  • The experience- Often the experience of browsing the luxurious showroom and the promise of rebates and easy payment plans is enough of a lure to purchase a new car. It really can make the whole process of buying a car all the more exciting plus you may be able to get other befits from buying your car during a certain time frame. Some dealerships even given away Plasma Televisions as an incentive for people to buy from their dealership!
  • Warranty and reliability- There is no doubt that one of the major benefits of buying a new car, apart from that delicious smell, is the warranty and comfortability buying a brand new car offers. A new car is less likely to have problems or break down, and is usually readily fixed, unlike a used car which can cost lots to repair and may have pre-existing issues which are not covered by any warranty.

It is really difficult to completely know a used car’s history so people can purchase cars that have many issues down the track that can cost hundreds if not thousands to fix.
